Welcome to the Salty Ole Boaters Web site!

If you're looking for pomp and circumstance, pageants with beauty queens, canon salutes, formal ceremonies you've come to the wrong place! There are plenty of yacht clubs where you can have all that and more! Initiation fees, minimums, special assessments... not here!

The Salty Ole Boaters is a virtual Chesapeake Bay yacht club open to all. We're boaters! There is no formal structure, no commodore, no board, just folks having fun! This is our our clubhouse on the Internet!

Our mission is to enjoy our boats! We cruise a lot... We meet at different restaurants... We discuss our adventures... We share our experiences and resources... We watch out for one another... If you'd like to join the fun talk to a member – we're everywhere!

Most weekends someone plans a trip. Many are raft-ups, in one of the many tributaries of the Bay. Some destinations include: Chestertown, Baltimore or Solomons Island. We eat at some great restaurants, we also have cook-outs at marinas we visit. Sometimes, on a raft-up, we transport a grill to the beach and have a beach party! We are inclusive and fair and take care of our fellow boaters. If you'd like to come you're always welcome or free free to plan your own weekend or vacation trip and invite others!

There's lots of information here so make yourself at home and check it all out!

Please feel free to submit an article or fun photo for Nauti Words. Suggestions for content, format and error or omission reports are also welcome.

Upcoming cruises, raft out, and get together's are in the cruises section.

And, of course, the Photos section will continue to show the... err... results... of the groups activities!

The Forum page provides an opportunity to discuss issues. Please feel free to suggest a topic for a discussion area!
